The elusive Nighstage series of watches from Autodromo gets a third entry today with the Group B Nightstage III. The latest installment builds on the second model, which was introduced in 2018, bringing a vibrant new colorway to the svelte steel and titanium body we know and love. Like the others, this will be a limited edition, with just 200 examples slated for production. The new dial looks straight out of Night City while embracing the same design language inspired by the most infamous racing series of all time, Group B.
Introducing The Autodromo Group B Nightstage III
The Group B watch is favorite around here, and for good reason. It’s an imminently wearable watch at 39mm in diameter and just 9mm in thickness, with a single link bracelet that fits neatly into the case design without quite being integrated. That means more strap options, and that’s a very good thing for this watch. Perhaps more importantly, though, is the pure originality of the Group B, which defies simple classification. It’s genuine, and at under $1,000, it’s approachable.
The Nightstage III gets a striking red grid design atop the matte black dial with matching red indices and hands. The colors bear a strong resemblance to the gauges and steering wheel (and upholstery… and shift knob) you’d find in the Group B Homologation car Peugeot 205 T16 if you ask me. That’s a very good thing. A look through many of the interiors of Group B cars will yield no shortage of inspiration, however, and the Nightstage III feels right at home in this context.
Keep an eye out for a hands-on look at the Nightstage III alongside the I and II models in the near future in what is quickly becoming a collector set to have for any old-school racing enthusiast. Inside you’ll find the reliable, if not refined, Miyota 9015 at work, much like the others. Again, just 200 of these will be built, each priced at $975. Autodromo.
