March LA.B began as an irrational idea in 2009, when Alain Marhic, Joseph Chatel and Jerome Mage came together with the ambition to add a new French piece to the global horological puzzle. After two years of research & development, March LA.B stepped onto the market with their first 1970’s inspired creation. They were not simply copying the past, but rather taking inspiration from it.
March LA.B Celebrates Birthday With Grade 5 Titanium Millesime March
Then came 2013. That is when they began assembling their watches in Franche-Comté. In the last two years, their own highly skilled watchmakers have begun assembling the Swiss movements powering their watches in Besançon. The goal is to uphold their house philosophy: to be as French as possible, as far as possible.
The word March within their brand name signifies the month the company was founded, essentially the birth of their “time adventure”. Since 2020, every March they have launched a new ultra-limited Millesime watch edition to celebrate their founding month. This year is no different, though they may have outdone themselves this time around. Strength and lightness could be its calling card, as the new Millesime March 2024 is entirely made of grade 5 titanium, including the stunning flat link bracelet.
The whole package weighs in at a surprisingly svelte 91 grams and a wonderfully thin 11.5mm to the top of its domed sapphire crystal. Its monochromatic design and square shape combine wearer comfort with retro-modernity. The dial’s three dimensional layout showcases the intertwined signature lines of the March LA.B logo and creates great visual depth, framed by its creatively applied indexes.
Powering this unique looking timepiece is the La Joux Perret G100, which is assembled in France, as previously mentioned, and has a power-reserve of 68 hours. It also includes a signature custom date display: the third day of every month features a green 3 on a black background – another tribute to their historic month.
The March LA.B Millesime March 2024 is limited to only 133 pieces and comes with a 2-year International Warranty. Starting at $2,150 USD, learn more about the latest collection on the March LA.B site.
