Vintage Omega Seamaster
Going to start off this week with a nice vintage Omega Seamaster with the classic ‘fat lugs’ case. The seller states the case is 38mm, but that must include the original clover leaf Omega signed crown, making the case about 35mm, which sounds right. The whole watch exhibits some wabi sabi, but this survivor looks original and genuine to me. There is some patina on the two-tone bullseye dial and the steel dauphine hands, but if you’re a fan of that look this might just be for you. So often Seamasters like this are polished and redialed, which is such a shame. This one has a caliber 354 bumper automatic that looks clean and the seller states it runs. Really a nice, genuine and unmolested example of the classic 1950’s Seamaster.
Swatch “Lancelot”
Vintage Swatches must be making a comeback because I keep seeing them for sale! What a fantastic piece of 1980’s nostalgia they are. This model is the Lancelot from 1986, and it’s in great original condition. Complete with the original band and box. Seller states it has a new battery and runs well. If you’re a Gen X’er like me, these bring back so many memories! Neon clothes, spiky hair, pegged acid wash jeans and Swatch watches….let’s go! Stranger Things and Hot Tub Time Machine in the flesh!
Vintage 1968 Military Field Watch
Here is a nice vintage unbranded military field watch from 1968. It looks much like the Benrus and Hamilton versions I’ve seen, but there is no brand name. It has the nice black dial with big, easy to read Arabic numerals and bright lume filled hands. The bead-blasted case is in good shape, and doesn’t appear to have been polished. The caseback bears all the correct military engravings, this looks to have been issued I think. It definitely has wear consistent with an issued military watch. Give it a little scrub and a new strap and you’re in business.
Seiko 5 “Actus” 7019A
This vintage Seiko 5 Actus watch is simple, but with style. And it’s in fantastic condition. The 38mm wide steel case is super clean and looks unpolished. Classic Seiko silver dial with applied steel stick markers and the ubiquitous day/date window at 3 o’clock. The watch comes on the correct and original steel bracelet with the 5 Actus signed buckle that has a little extension piece. Really nice piece that would look good in any situation. Seller states it has been serviced and runs well. Can’t beat these vintage Seikos for bang-for-your-buck.
